Sounded Freshwater Pearl Necklace

La Perla is a singular necklace composed of cultured freshwater pearls, each chosen for the particularity of its form, surface and lustre.
Rather than seeking uniformity, the composition brings together pearls with their own natural character — rounded and irregular forms, soft ridges and shifting tones of ivory, cream and nacre. Individually knotted and assembled by hand, their differences become part of the rhythm of the piece.
Before completion, La Perla passes through The Sounding at the GEOWÈ atelier in Villach, Austria. Laid upon the archival Sounding Silk, the finished necklace is sounded with GEOWÈ crystal singing bowls as the final act of its making.
The Sounding becomes part of the object's provenance. La Perla is accompanied by its numbered object card and access to an audible trace of its Sounding.
